Volunteers Wanted

The Hooded Plover sub-committee obtained a grant from Lotterywest to conduct an expedition to the Nuytsland Nature Reserve to search for Hooded Plover. After the event, some funding was left over and Lotteries has kindly agreed that this can be used to conduct further inland Hooded Plover surveys.

A subsidy is available to BAWA members who conduct a Hooded Plover survey at inland salt lakes between June and December 2007. Your trip/campout does not thave to be solely oriented on Hooded Plover, as long as you comprehensively survey some salt lakes for Hooded Plover and submit observation sheets.

The next State Hooded Plover survey will be held on Saturday 23rd February and Sunday 24th February.


Aim
To survey as many inland salt lakes as possible.

• Coastal lakes around Hopetoun. and between Hopetoun and Esperance

• Lake Ronnerup,  Bennetts Lake

• Salt lakes around Cranbrook

• Salt lakes north of the Stirling Ranges

• Yarra Yarra Lakes

• Salt lakes near Leeman

• Salt lakes east of Perenjori

• Lake Grace and many more.
